Teacher Coaching
Support for Dyslexia Services
Instructional dyslexia coaches provide educators with feedback on how to implement proven, research-based instructional practices for students with dyslexia. Our coaches serve as liaisons between research and practice, providing guidance and structure to districts so they can better support learners with dyslexia and align their practices and procedures with state dyslexia laws.
We offer the following coaching services to local districts to provide support in the implementation of curriculum and interventions:
- Professional development in understanding, identifying, and teaching dyslexic learners
- Needs analysis for individual teachers to address the teachers' most pressing needs and concerns
- Modeling instruction and demonstrating the use of methods and strategies
- In-classroom observations to support teachers during implementation
- Current curricular adaptations for dyslexia
- Outcomes evaluation and data collection
- Dyslexia Law compliance and alignment
Our goal is to provide teacher-friendly information and materials that enable teachers to successfully meet the needs of their dyslexic students and facilitate the transfer of knowledge into best practices.
The information, activities, and engagement learning utilized during coaching are designed to align with the guidelines and standards of the Ohio Board of Education and Workforce and the Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers.
