On-site Coaching
Support for Dyslexia Services
Instructional coaches are on-site professional developers who teach educators how to use proven, research-based instructional practices for dyslexia. Our coaches are liaisons between research and practice providing guidance and structure to districts so they may better serve dyslexic learners.
We offer the following coaching services to local districts to provide support in the implementation of curriculum and interventions:
- Professional development in understanding, identifying, and teaching dyslexic learners
- Needs analysis for individual teachers to address the teacher's most pressing needs and concerns
- Modeling instruction and demonstrating the use of methods and strategies
- In-classroom observations to support teachers during implementation
- Current curricular adaptations for dyslexia
- Outcomes evaluation and data collection
- HB 436 compliance as it becomes available
Our goal is to provide teacher-friendly information and materials so teachers can be successful in meeting the needs of their dyslexic students and facilitating the transfer of knowledge into best practices.
The information, activities, and engagement learning during on-site coaching have been designed to align with guidelines and standards of the state of Ohio Board of Education and the Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers.
